Project Brief
As Winning Appliances’ existing website had become outdated, the company requested their current graphic design company, Media Merchants, to partner with Ziller in order to develop a new, optimal website that would represent online the incredible business Winning Appliances displays in their stores and showrooms. After Media Merchants created the visual layout of the website, Ziller developed a project plan that would effectively take the visual design to the next stage. Ziller’s solution used a wide range of technologies including PHP coupled with Zend framework that resulted in a rich and structured website. The final website operated with state-of-the-art technology such as JQuery and Ajax for client-side use, along with a content management system (CMS) custom built by Ziller.
The Result
Success! Effective usability from testing and research amounted to an easy to use site that advertises the handcrafted work of Ziller. The unique CMS design produced a highly functional system that allows Winning Appliances’ staff to carry out a wide range of changes to the website, empowering the company to guarantee their website is always up to date and as effective as possible. Through the CMS design, Winning Appliances can advertise cooking demonstrations held by various product brands simply by adding to the website’s calendar which cooking demonstrations are held at which showrooms on which days. Powerful client-side development features such as the cooking demo calendar have fast loading times and are extremely easy-to-use processes, ensuring the staff’s time is not wasted and users receive the exact information they want. The advance security embedded in the CMS prevents any possibility for unauthorised changes.
Ziller built the website with 100% semantic HTML. The code created for Winning Appliances, as with all code Ziller designs, ensures that search engines such as Google can easily access and crawl through the website. Ziller’s built code helps Google interpret the information on the page correctly, allowing search engines to better recognise the website during a web-users’ search. Ziller's clean and effective use of CSS to compliment the HTML greatly improved the website’s content accessibility and carried the Winning Appliances’ dedication to customer satisfaction: fast loading pages in order to bring the customer what they need online as quickly as possible.
