Gmail now with Video & Voice Chat

Gmail, Google’s free email platform, recently launched video and voice chat that enables you to hear and see your friend live, all from within Gmail just like normal chat. While there are many other free applications like this available to use, including Skype, I think it’s a great feature for any Gmail user as it provides a convenient way of communicating live without having to close your email window, so you can be talking to someone and still have your Gmail window running behind.

To enable the video chat feature, all you need to do is download and install the voice and video plugin, and away you go. You can also read more about the new feature from Gmail’s official blog.

Thanks for your comment. I am always amazed at how advanced Google are and how much they seem to get done with little or no issues. I think Microsoft could most definitely take a leaf out of their book.

My husband and i have been absolutely relieved that Michael could finish up his preliminary research with the precious recommendations he made using your blog. It’s not at all simplistic to simply choose to be giving away tips and hints which many people might have been selling. Therefore we consider we’ve got the website owner to thank for that. Those illustrations you made, the straightforward website navigation, the friendships you help to create – it’s got everything incredible, and it’s really helping our son and our family recognize that this subject is satisfying, and that’s tremendously indispensable. Many thanks for everything!
